Announcing the New Associate Director of College Counseling

Miami Country Day School announces new associate director of college counseling.
Following Marnie Allen’s announcement earlier this year that she would be retiring after 40 years of dedicated service to Miami Country Day School, we are excited to announce that Michael Durant will be joining the College Counseling Office in July as an Associate Director. Currently, Mr. Durant is Miami Country Day’s admissions representative from New York University, where he serves as Associate Director of Admissions. A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Mr. Durant earned a B.A. in Sociology from the College of Charleston and an M.A. in Sociology of Education from the NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development.

About his appointment, Mr. Durant commented, “Miami Country Day has always been welcoming, since my first recruitment season in 2017. I am excited to work with such a dynamic community that has been a significant part of my college recruitment work in South Florida for the past four years.”  Besides Miami, Mr. Durant has recruited internationally for NYU, with South Africa being his favorite country to visit. In 2016, with a group of friends, Mr. Durant released a gospel album, which is available on multiple digital platforms.

Please join us in extending a warm Spartan welcome to Mr. Durant.
