Baseball

Baseball is a Spring sport that begins in late January and ends with the state championships in late May. The program consists of a middle school team (grades 6-8), and a varsity team (grades 9-12).

Our teams compete on campus at the state-of-the art Koch Family Athletic Complex and annually hosts the South Florida Baseball Conference Championships. Since 1997, the team has won more than 200 games, 3 district championships, 2 conference championships, and has produced 14 collegiate student-athletes.

Football

Football is a Fall sport that begins in early August and ends at the state championships in early December. The football program consists of a varsity team (grades 8-12). Our team competes on campus at the state-of-the art Koch Family Athletic Complex.

This program has over 170 wins, has advanced to the playoffs 6 times, and has produced 15 collegiate student-athletes. The Miami Herald has named 41 football players as first-team, all-county student-athletes.

Water Polo

Water Polo is a Spring sport that begins in late January and ends with the state championships in late April. The program consists of a middle school team (grades 6-8), and boys and girls varsity teams (grades 9-12). Our teams compete on campus at our beautiful Miami Country Day School Aquatics Center.

Since 2006, the girls and boys varsity teams have combined to win more than a combined 350 games, 11 district championships, and 2 regional championships. The Miami Herald has named 7 water polo players as first-team, all-county student-athletes.

Lacrosse

Lacrosse is a Spring sport that begins in late January and ends with the state championships in the middle of May. The boys program consists of a middle school team (grades 6-8), and a varsity team (grades 9-12). Since the boys varsity program’s inception in 2002, the team has won more than 150 games and one district championship.

The girls program consists of a varsity team (grades 6-12). Our teams compete on campus at the state-of-the art Koch Family Athletic Complex. The girls program began in the Spring of 2019, and the team won 2 games in its inaugural season. The Miami Herald has named 11 lacrosse players as first-team, all-county student-athletes.

Golf

Golf is a Fall sport that begins in early August and ends with the state championships in early November. The golf program consists of a girls and boys varsity team, grades 6-12. Our teams compete at the Miami Shores Country Club, adjacent to Miami Country Day School.

Since 1981, this program has over 360 wins, with the boys having won 12 district championships and the girls winning 5. In addition, Briny Baird (1990), Robert Floyd (1994), and Travis Stewart (1997) each have won an individual state championship. The Miami Herald has named 21 Spartan golfers as first-team, all-county student-athletes.

Cross Country

Cross Country is a Fall sport that begins in early August and ends with the state championships in early November. The cross country program consists of a girls and boys varsity team, grades 6-12.

Our teams compete in home meets at nearby Greynolds Park, and participate in many of top invitationals throughout the season, Since 1991, under the leadership of Chris Hayes, this program has over 720 wins, with the boys having won 7 district championships and the girls winning 11 district and 5 regional championships . The Miami Herald has named one Spartan runner as a first-team, all-county student-athlete.

Swimming

Swimming is a Fall sport that begins in early August and ends with the state championships in early November. The swim program consists of a girls and boys middle school team (grades 6-8) and a girls and boys varsity team (grades 9-12). Our teams compete on campus at our beautiful Miami Country Day School Aquatics Center, and participate in many of the top invitationals throughout the county.

Since 2006, this program has over 330 wins, with the girls team winning 2 district championships. The Miami Herald has named 21 Spartan swimmers as first-team, all-county student-athletes.

Volleyball

Girls Volleyball is a Fall sport that begins in early August and ends with the state championships in early November. Our volleyball program consists of a middle school (jv) volleyball team (grades 6-8), middle school (varsity) volleyball team (grades 6-8), junior varsity team (grades 9-11), and a varsity team (grades 9-12). Our teams compete on campus at our J. Calvin Rose Athletic Center, on the Coach O Court.

Since 1981, this program has over 500 wins, including 16 district championships and 2 middle school championships. The Miami Herald has named three Spartan volleyball player as first-team, all-county student-athletes.

Basketball

Basketball is a Winter sport that begins in late October and ends with the state championships in early March. Our boys program consists of a middle school (jv) team (grades 6-8), and middle school (varsity) team (grades 6-8), a junior varsity team (grades 9-11), and a varsity team (grades 9-12).

Since 1981, the boys team has won over 575 games, 8 district championships, and 1 regional championship. The girls program consists of a middle school team (grades 6-8), and a varsity team (grades 9-12). Since 2004, under the leadership of legendary Coach Ochiel Swaby, the varsity team has won over 350 games, 2 middle school championships, 11 district championships, 8 regional championships, 6 state titles, and 2 national championships.

Our teams compete on campus at our J. Calvin Rose Athletic Center, on the Coach O Court. The Miami Herald has named 33 basketball players as first-team, all-county student-athletes.

Soccer

Soccer is a Winter sport that begins in late October and ends with the state championships in late February. Our boys program consists of a middle school team (grades 6-8) and a varsity team (grades 9-12). Since 1996, under the leadership of FACA Hall of Fame Coach Jeff Watson, the boys team has won over 300 games and 10 district championships.

The girls program consists of a middle school team (grades 6-8), and a varsity team (grades 9-12). Since 2012, the girls teams have won more than 125 games, 8 consecutive district championships, 2 regional championships, and an appearance at the state championship game in 2018. Our teams compete on campus at the state-of-the art Koch Family Athletic Complex. The Miami Herald has named 66 soccer players as first-team, all-county student-athletes.

Softball

Softball is a Spring sport that begins in late January and ends with the state championships in late May. The program consists of a varsity team (grades 6-8). Our team competes on campus at the state-of-the art Koch Family Athletic Complex and annually hosts the South Florida Softball Conference Championships.

Since the program was re-started in 2000, the girls have won more than 180 games and 3 district championships. The Miami Herald has named one softball player as first-team, all-county student-athletes.

Tennis

Tennis is a Spring sport that begins in late January and ends with the state championships in late April. The girls and boys program each consists of a middle school team (grades 6-8), and a high school team (grades 9-12). The middle school teams practice and play matches at the Miami Shores Country Club, adjacent to Miami Country Day School, and the varsity teams compete at the North Miami Beach Tennis Center. Since 1997, the girls team has won over 160 matches and 13 district championships, including 7 in a row.

The girls have also won 4 individual state championships (Christine Clermont 2004-2006, Cassandra Herzberg 2007), and 3 doubles state championships (Christine Clermont and Cassandra Herzberg 2005-2006, Cassandra Herzberg and Katharine Roesler in 2007). Since 1998, the boys have won more than 210 matches, 22 consecutive district championships, and 1 regional title.

Shaun Berman won an individual state championship in 2013, and Louis Siegler won an overall state championship in 2019.
