Palm League: The Palm League (PL) was formed to meet the needs of small, private schools in Southeast Florida. As the Florida High School Athletic Association has transitioned its’ structure, it became increasingly necessary to address individual and collective needs and concerns about interscholastic athletics in Florida. In January 2019, seven charter member institutions with similar academic standards aligned to coordinate athletic competition in supplement to regular season FHSAA State Series play. As required district playbecomes eliminated by the FHSAA, it was important to the charter members to establish a yearly regular schedule of opponents. The charter members agreed that playing each other during the regular season would provide a high level of competition and benefit member schools in the new FHSAA State Series seeding process. These charter members voted unanimously to name the new conference the Palm League (PL).

The seven charter members of the PL are:
● The Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens (Palm Beach County)
● Gulliver Preparatory Schools in Pinecrest (Miami-Dade County)
● Miami Country Day School in Miami (Miami-Dade County)
● North Broward Preparatory School in Coconut Creek (Broward County)
● Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach (Palm Beach County)
● Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale (Broward County)
● Saint Andrew’s School in Boca Raton (Palm Beach County)

On August 20, 2019, this press release officially announces the formation of the Palm League (PL), with competition to begin in the 2019-20 academic year. The first by-laws were drafted in February 2019 and approved by charter members in May 2019. From the start it was a collective effort, with administrators from all member institutions contributing to the overall formation and management of the conference. Acting as first League Commissioner is North Broward Preparatory School Athletic Director Mike Ostrowski. Inaugural league dues allowed for the hiring of Bill Ruhl as Director of Communications. In its inaugural year, the conference will sponsor championships in 17 sports: Girls Volleyball, Girls and Boys Swimming & Diving, Girls and Boys Cross Country, Girls and Boys Golf, Girls and Boys Soccer, Girls and Boys Basketball, Girls and Boys Tennis, Girls and Boys Track & Field, Girls Softball and Boys
Baseball.
