Three Seniors Sign Letters of Intent

Congratulations to seniors Maria Alvarez, Connor Goodman, and Koi Love. All three Miami Country Day School student-athletes signed their respective Letters of Intent on Wednesday, November 14 in the J. Calvin Rose Athletic Center.
Koi Love-Vanderbilt University
Koi Love is in her second year here at Miami Country Day.  Last year she won a state title, and was selected first team All-County and Player of the Year in Class 2A to 5A Girls Basketball by the Miami Herald while averaging 19 points per game, 12 rebounds per game and 3 blocked shots per game.  In the words of Coach Ochiel Swaby “Koi has really grown in her time here, her dedication to getting better is unmatched on the team.  I expect her to have a great senior year.” Congratulations to Koi Love as she will be continuing her basketball career at Vanderbilt University.
 
Connor Goodman-University of Maine
Connor Goodman has been a starter on the varsity baseball team since eighth grade.  He is a very versatile player who has the ability to play third, shortstop, second base and pitch at a high level.  He has a career .345 batting average, with 88 hits, 76 runs scored, and has stolen 38 bases in 41 attempts.  In the words of his head coach, Chuck Sennett, “Connor has an outstanding work ethic, impeccable character and is a great teammate and leader.”  Connor will be attending the University of Maine on a baseball scholarship and will study Business.
 
Maria Alvarez-University of South Florida
Maria Alvarez has been on the girls’ varsity basketball team the past six years.  She has been selected first team all-county by the Miami Herald each of the past three seasons.  Maria has five state championship rings to go along with two Dick’s National Tournament championships.  During her career at Miami Country Day she has made over 300 three pointers.  In the words of Coach O “Maria has been an important part of our ascension to being a national program.  Her ability to shoot the ball has really made life easy for our other players.”  Please congratulate Maria Alvarez as she will be signing with the University of South Florida.
