In Thursday’s Athletic Action......The Varsity Baseball Team (7-4) beat Marathon 7-0. Zac Wyka led the way going 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI, Eric Germeus scored 3 runs and stole 5 bases, Lee Iaslovitz recoded the win, throwing 6 innings, allowing 2 hits, and striking out 7, Dhillon Murphy was 2 for 2, and Myles Berlowitz doubled and drove in 3 runs. The Boys Middle School Tennis Team finished runner-up in the South Florida Middle School Conference Championships. Max Castanon won the #1 singles championship, Oscar Bergier won the #5 singles championship, Juan de Zabala and Francesco Rumiano won the #2 doubles championship, Cliff Halliwell was runner-up in #2 singles, Juan de Zabala was runner-up in #3 singles, and Max and Cliff were runner-up in #1 singles. Congrats to the boys and their coaches on a great season.  The Middle School Baseball Team (3-8) beat Cushman 5-4. Nate Giovannucci was 1 for 2 with a run scored and 2 stolen bases, Josh Ader was 3 for 3 with 3 stolen bases, and Max Toyos scored the winning run.  
Today.....The Varsity Lacrosse Team hosts Florida Christian in their ‘Senior Game” at 7pm, and the Softball Team travels to Coral Shores at 4pm.  
On Saturday....The Boys Middle School Lacrosse Team travels to Gulliver to play Ransom Everglades in the South Florida Middle School Conference Semi-finals, and the Middle School Baseball Team hosts Doctors Charter at 10am and Everglades Prep at 12:30pm.
Spartan Spring Fling.....TODAY, we will begin a special new tradition at MCDS, the first annual Spartan Spring Fling. This will be a community wide event from 4-9pm with a food court, music, games for the younger kids and a dessert bar created by the upper school students. Mr Connor, Mr. Peter Konen, Anthony Haderer, Coach Chris Polite, Coach JoJo Frigerio, Abra Adrabi, and Maria Alvarez will all takes turns in a dunk tank and there will be art on display throughout campus. It will be a special campus wide community afternoon and evening. Spring Fling will culminate with the Varsity Lacrosse senior game at 7pm. At the start of the game, each varsity player will be escorted on the field by a 3rd grade buddy and the national Anthem will be sung by members of the cast of the upcoming Upper School musical, Grease. Please join us for this special celebration of Spartan Spirit.
