In Tuesday’s Athletic Action.........The Girls Varsity Water Polo Team (15-10) beat Mast Academy in the District Semi-finals 9-8.  Patrizia Puppin led the way with 3 goals, including the game-winner, Chloe Cartledge and Rhiannen Reig each scored 2 goals, and Isabella Stripling and Sabrina Morata each scored. The Boys Varsity Water Polo Team (12-14) lost to Miami Beach High School in the District Semi-finals 10-7. Zach Charalambides led the way with 5 goals and 2 steals, Michael Bernstein had a goal and 4 steals, Jake Grossman scored, and Riccardo Di Giuseppe made 14 saves. The Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team (8-5) beat North Broward Prep 9-4. Jake Fishman led the way with 4 goals and an assist, Noah Reines scored 3 goals, Marlon Robins added a goal and an assist, Chaz Berkowitz scored, Noah Markofsky, Sean Fuller, and Richie Lovelace each had assists, and David Burger made 17 saves. The Softball Team (2-6) lost to SLAM Academy 21-10. Senior Isabella Allen led the way with 3 hits, including a homerun, and 3 runs scored, Senior Alicia Kelly had 3 hits, including a triple, and 2 runs scored, Tatiana Barnes added 2 hits, including a double, and 3 RBI, Logan Sennett had 2 hits, including a homerun, and 3 RBI, Sophia Gostfrand singled and scored 2 runs, and Maryam Rassif singled.
 
Today..... The Girls Middle School Tennis Team participates in the South Florida Middle School Championships at Gulliver Academy at 4pm, the Varsity Baseball Team travels to Dr. Krop High School at 3:30pm, the Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team hosts Palmer-Trinity in their “Senior Game” at 4pm, and the Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team hosts Coral Reef High School at 6pm, and the Girls Varsity Water Polo Team plays Hialeah in the District Championship at Mast Academy at 4pm. 
 
Spartan Spring Fling.....On April 12, we will begin a special new tradition at MCDS, the first annual Spartan Spring Fling. This will be a community wide event from 4-9pm with a food court, music, games for the younger kids and a dessert bar created by the upper school students. Mr Connor, Mr. Peter Konen, Anthony Haderer, Coach Chris Polite, Coach JoJo Frigerio, Abra Adrabi, and Maria Alvarez will all takes turns in a dunk tank and there will be art on display throughout campus. It will be a special campus wide community afternoon and evening. Spring Fling will culminate with the Varsity lacrosse senior game at 7pm. At the start of the game, each varsity player will be escorted on the field by a 3rd grade buddy and the national Anthem will be sung by members of the cast of the upcoming Upper School musical, Grease. Please join us for this special celebration of Spartan Spirit.
