Congratulations to Coach Ochiel Swaby – He was named the 2016 Florida Dairy Farmers 3A Girls Basketball Coach of the Year.
In Friday's Athletic Action.....The Varsity Lacrosse Team (2-6) lost to Western High School 14-11. Ryan Finvarb led the way with 3 goals and an assist, Tyler Grosman had 2 goals and 2 assists, Matthew Barron and Sean Fuller each added 2 goals, Chad Azeroual-Dray and Zachary Hart each scored, Corey Altman and Blaise Pronesti each had assists, and Adrian Rega and David Burger each played well. The Varsity Baseball Team (3-8) lost to Westminster Academy 12-2. The Middle School Baseball Team (1-5) lost to Westminster Academy 12-2. Dhillon Murphy and Zac Wyka each had RBI singles and Danny Saydhuzhin singled. The Girls Middle School Water Polo Team (0-3) lost to Gulliver 17-3. Sabrina Morata had a goal and an assist, Isabella Stripling made 13 steals, Sofia Paredes had a goal and 7 steals, Gabi Marchesani had a goal and 17 steals, and Giulia Zamboli made 10 blocks. The Boys Middle School Water Polo Team (0-3) lost to Gulliver 15-8. Camryn Davis led the way with 3 goals and 13 steals, Ramon Villamayor had 2 goals and 8 steals, Jake Grossman scored twice, Jack Lombardo added a goal, and Riccardo di Giuseppe made 16 blocks.
In Saturday....The Middle School (Varsity) Lacrosse Team (6-3) beat Ransom Everglades 5-3. Dylan Turk led the way with 3 goals, Noah Markofsky added 2 goals, Ryan Mendelson and Tyler Gale each had an assist, and Zachary Babil and Joel Cohen played well. The Middle School (Varsity) Lacrosse Team (7-3) beat Palmetto 9-6. Jack Finvarb led the way with 5 goals and 2 assists, Ryan Mendelson had 3 goals and an assist, Dylan Turk added a goal and an assist, Noah Markofsky had 5 assists, and Jovan Joseph and Tyler Gale each played well. The Middle School (JV) Lacrosse Team (3-4) beat McNichol Middle School 7-3. Nicky Altman had 2 goals, Mikey Port added a goal and an assist, Patrick Lovelace, Mitchel Koch, Aaron Brodsky, and Lucas Zayden all scored, Romain Vinois and Jack Russakoff added assists, and Julian Chariff, Milan Luciano, and Noah Gaudet all played well. The Varsity Baseball Team (4-8) beat Marathon 12-4. Jorden Gross threw 5 solid innings for the win, Austin Pollak was 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI, Kian Andersen hit a 2-run homerun, and Griffin Sennett and Jesse Grosman each went 2 for 5 with 2 runs scored.
In Today's action....The Girls and Boys Middle School Tennis Teams host Gulliver at 3pm, the Girls and Boys Varsity Tennis Teams travel to Coral Gables at 2:30pm, the Junior Varsity Lacrosse Team hosts Cardinal Gibbons at 5pm, and the Varsity Lacrosse Team hosts LaSalle at 7pm.
Important Parking InformationAll parking for events hosted on campus will be located at the off-site parking lot at Barry University. We will provide continuous shuttle bus service for all MCDS events from this parking lot location. There will be two shuttle buses running at all times from the Barry University parking lot to the MCDS Pool Parking Lot located on 107th Street. All event guests should allow an additional 20 minutes in their schedule for parking at Barry University and for the shuttle bus service. This will provide enough time to arrive on time for the event. The parking lot located at 11501 NW 5th Ave. Miami, Florida 33168.
