The mission of Miami Country Day School’s Financial Aid Program is to ensure qualified students have the opportunity to attend our school without regard to financial circumstances. As a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), Miami Country Day School provides financial aid on the basis of demonstrated family financial need. Financial aid awards are made based on financial need and availability of funds without regard to race, color, religion, ethnic origin or disability. Students entering grades six through twelve are eligible for consideration, with priority given to returning students. New students are awarded funds on a first-come, first-served basis.
Miami Country Day School partners with TADS, which assists schools in making financial aid decisions. When determining a family's eligibility for financial aid, Miami Country Day School considers a need analysis provided by TADS. This assessment takes into account a family's income, savings, assets and liabilities, as well as any special circumstances. Much of the information requested is found on a family's 1040 Internal Revenue Service form and W-2 wage statement.
All families requesting or receiving aid are required to file an annual Financial aid application with TADS. Typically, Miami Country Day school requires your most recently filed 1040 tax form (or verification of non-filing status from the IRS), your most recent W2 statements as well as documentation of the stated debt on your application, for the tax year prior to the child’s fall enrollment. The required supporting documentation will be outlined at the beginning and end of the online application and is tailored specifically to what was entered on your application. Every effort is made to meet the financial needs of applicants. However, because requests for aid often exceed the funds available, it is important to apply as early as possible. Financial aid applications will be available in November 2018. You may apply online at www.tads.com
or select the link below. If you are applying to the school, please be sure to indicate this on your application. For new families, you must complete the TADS process by January 8, 2019
, and returning family financial aid applications are due December 11, 2018
. The mailing address to submit your supporting documents to TADS is: 1201 Hawthorne Ave, Suite 100 Minneapolis, Minnesota 55403 or you may send documents via fax to 612-548-3326
. Uploading documents is also an option at www.tads.com/upload
The family’s financial profile is reviewed by Miami Country Day School’s Financial Aid Committee and they determine the amount of the award. All relevant documents are necessary to complete a file and be reviewed. Financial need is defined as the difference between Miami Country Day School’s tuition and an estimate of what the student’s family can reasonably contribute for education. Regardless of the student’s talents and attributes, a candidate cannot receive assistance unless they qualify based on family income.
All application forms, tax information, and other related papers are held in strictest confidence. Miami Country Day School feels strongly that the success of its financial aid program depends heavily on the confidentiality of financial information. We expect that families will also keep confidential their award eligibility and the amount of their award. Awards may be withdrawn for failure to comply.
