2026–2031 Miami Country Day School Strategic Plan

The Country Day Way Forward

Our plan highlights how we are investing in the full student journey. It is a clear and focused commitment to the future of our school, defining how students will learn, how teachers will be supported, how our campus and partnerships will be leveraged, and how every student will be known, challenged, and prepared for life beyond our classrooms.

Rooted in the Country Day philosophy and driven by our mission to empower every student, every day, everywhere, this plan sets a clear path forward through three defining pillars.

OUR THREE PILLARS

The Country Day Way

The Country Day Way brings together our deepest convictions about learning: that students thrive when they engage meaningfully with ideas, when they experience the world beyond the classroom, and when they develop the confidence, wisdom, and agency to chart their own paths.

Exceptional Educators

Every adult is an educator, and every educator shapes the lived experience of our mission. The strength of our school rests on the people who model curiosity, integrity, compassion, and growth for our students every day.

Rooted in the Country Day Tradition

The Country Day tradition was built on a simple but enduring idea: a rigorous education should develop the whole person, and the entire experience of school should contribute to that growth.
At Miami Country Day School, that philosophy has been part of our story since 1938. Across generations, academics, relationships, arts, athletics, exploration, service, and community have shaped the student experience.
As our School and the world around us have evolved, so has the way we bring the Country Day philosophy to life.

OUR COUNTRY DAY STORY
  • 1938–1960
Education as a Way of Life
MCDS begins as a small residential school where academics, athletics, arts, recreation, relationships, and the natural environment are all part of the educational experience.
  • 1970–1980
    Expanding the Country Day Experience
MCDS becomes coeducational and expands academic, athletic, arts, service, enrichment, and experiential opportunities for a broader community of students.
  • 1990–2000
    New Ways to Learn
Environmental education, wellness, learning support, cultural experiences, and opportunities beyond campus expand the ways students learn and discover their interests.
  • 2010–NOW
    Tradition Meets Innovation
MCDS continues to invest in arts, athletics, global learning, wellness, technology, and community while preparing students for an increasingly connected and rapidly changing world.

DISTINCTIVELY MIAMI COUNTRY DAY

In a city at the intersection of cultures, languages, and continents, global citizenship is naturally connected to who we are and where we learn.
