Our Spartan Athletic Hall of Fame, established by the Miami Country Day School Alumni Association, honors the extraordinary individuals who have achieved a high level of success during their careers as student-athletes, coaches or through other significant accomplishments to the Miami Country Day School athletic program. ​​
The purpose of this recognition is to perpetuate the achievements and legacy of those who have brought distinction, honor and excellence to our Miami Country Day School community.​​

Chuck Sennett Started ‘92

Athletic Director, Coach

For more than three decades, including over 20 years as Athletic Director, Charles “Chuck” Sennett Ill has been a cornerstone of Spartan athletics-building programs, mentoring students, and elevating the school’s athletic reputation to new heights.

For more than three decades, including over 20 years as Athletic Director, Charles “Chuck” Sennett Ill has been a cornerstone of Spartan athletics-building programs, mentoring students, and elevating the school’s athletic reputation to new heights.
Under his visionary leadership, Miami Country Day achieved extraordinary success, including 10 state championships in girls basketball and an impressive 147 district championships across multiple sports.
He also played a pivotal role in the opening of the Woodhouse Athletic Center, a premier facility that reflects his commitment to providing student-athletes with exceptional resources and opportunities for growth.
Beyond his administrative excellence, Chuck has served as a dedicated coach, mentor, and advocate for students, leading teams in baseball, football, and other sports with integrity and passion.
His impact extends far beyond campus, as a founding contributor to several regional athletic conferences and an elected member of the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Board of Directors and Appeals Committee.
Chuck’s induction into the Spartan Athletic Hall of Fame honors not only his outstanding achievements but also his enduring commitment to character, sportsmanship, and community.

Scarlet Ray distinguished herself as a multi-sport standout, excelling in both swimming and water polo throughout her high school career.

Scarlet Ray distinguished herself as a multi-sport standout, excelling in both swimming and water polo throughout her high school career.
From her freshman year onward, she consistently demonstrated skill, determination, and growth, earning multiple Coaches Awards, MVP honors,
and repeated selections to the Miami Herald All-Dade teams.
In swimming, Ray progressed from 2nd Team All-Dade as a freshman to 1st Team All-Dade and team MVP by her senior year. In water polo, she earned
ecognition as Most Improved, 2nd Team All-Dade, and eventually team MVP.
Her dedication to athletics was matched by her commitment to character and leadership, earning her the Upper School Sportsmanship Award, as well as
nominations for Miami Herald Scholar Athlete and Silver Knight in Athletics.
Following her illustrious high school career, Scarlet continued her swimming journey at the University of low, where she competed for four years,
representing the program with the same tenacity and work ethic that defined her prep career.
Scarlet Ray’s Hall of Fame legacy reflects not only her athletic excellence across two sports but also her exemplary sportsmanship, leadership, and the
positive impact she made on her teammates and community.

Kelsey Marshall’s high school basketball career was a model of sustained excellence and championship pedigree.


Kelsey Marshall’s high school basketball career was a model of sustained excellence and championship pedigree.
From her sophomore through senior years, she consistently earned MVP honors, led her team to three state championships, and received repeated recognition on the All-County First Team.
Highlighting her national impact, Marshall was a Dicks National Champion twice and helped guide her team to a #1 ranking in the country in her senior year, cementing her status as one of the premier players in the nation during her high school tenure.
Her combination of skill, leadership, and competitive drive made her a cornerstone of her team’s historic success.
After high school, Kelsey continued her basketball journey at the University of Miami (2017-2022), where she contributed at the Division I level with the same determination and poise that defined her prep career.
Her collegiate experience further honed her abilities, while her leadership and work ethic left a lasting impact on teammates and coaches alike.

Maria Alvarez ‘19

Basketball

From the moment she stepped onto the court as a seventh grader, Maria Alvarez made history. Competing on the varsity basketball team for six consecutive years, Alvarez helped lead her team to six straight state championships, an unprecedented run of excellence that defined an era.

From the moment she stepped onto the court as a seventh grader, Maria Alvarez made history. Competing on the varsity basketball team for six consecutive years, Alvarez helped lead her team to six straight state championships, an unprecedented run of excellence that defined an era.
Her leadership, work ethic, and clutch performances set her apart, earning her a series of honors including the Coaches Award (9th grade), Spartan Award (10th grade), and Team MVP (11th and 12th grade).
In her senior year, Alvarez capped off her remarkable high school career by being named Upper School Athlete of the Year, a fitting recognition for an athlete whose dedication and competitive spirit elevated everyone around her.
Following her decorated high school career, Maria continued her basketball journey at the University of South Florida (2019-2024), competing at the Division I level.
At USF, she brought the same poise and determination that defined her earlier success, becoming a respected leader both on and off the court. Whether leading fast breaks, hitting critical shots, or mentoring younger teammates, Alvarez exemplified what it means to be a champion in every sense.
Her Hall of Fame legacy stands not only on the strength of six state titles, but also on the lasting impact of her leadership, resilience, and love for the game.

If you are interested in nominating an exceptional individual for the Hall of Fame Class of 2028, please contact Chuck Sennett, Athletic Director, at sennettc@miamicountryday.org.​​

  1. Student-athlete and coach nominees have shown exceptional accomplishment in at least one interscholastic sport.
  2. Student-athlete nominees will have attended Miami Country Day School for at least two years and have been an alumnus for five years.
  3. Coach nominees should have coached at least one sport at Miami Country Day School for at least five years.
  4. Subsequent athletic achievement will also be taken into consideration in outstanding cases.
  5. Individuals who have made significant contributions to the athletic program are also eligible. Preference will be given to those who demonstrate a sustained and exemplary record of achievement.
