Connecting Our MCDS Community

At Miami Country Day School, community is more than a shared place. It is built through the relationships, traditions, and experiences that bring us together. The Parents’ Association plays an important role in strengthening that sense of community, welcoming families, building meaningful connections, and bringing parents, faculty, and administration together in support of our students.

Through cherished traditions, shared experiences, and opportunities to participate, the PA helps create a welcoming and inclusive community where families feel known, connected, and valued. Across our PK3–12 One-School community, these connections strengthen our sense of belonging and our shared Spartan pride.

Every MCDS parent is part of the Parents’ Association. Together, guided by our School’s core values of purpose, honor, respect, wisdom, and compassion, we help make our community a place where families connect, relationships grow, and everyone has a sense of belonging.

PA Committees

Many Ways to Make a Difference

Parents’ Association committees bring families together to support school traditions, celebrate our faculty and staff, and create meaningful connections across the MCDS community. Each committee offers an opportunity for parents to share their time and talents while contributing to school life.

Join a PA meeting

PA meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month, with in-person and online participation options. Connect with other parents, hear about upcoming events, and stay informed about school life.

Sunshine Committee

Helps care for our school community by recognizing faculty and staff birthdays and milestones and offering thoughtful support to students, families, faculty, and staff during challenging times.
Faculty Welcome Back Luncheon Committee

Organizes and hosts the annual Faculty Welcome Back Luncheon, welcoming faculty and staff as they prepare for the new school year.
Social Committee

Plans and supports on-campus events that bring MCDS families together, including Walk with Purpose, Family BBQ, Trunk-or-Treat, Fall Festival, and Yule Log.
Holiday Bazaar Committee

Organizes and supports the annual Holiday Bazaar, coordinating vendors, event operations, food, volunteers, and other activities that bring this beloved community tradition to life.
Book Fair Committee

Organizes the annual Book Fair, coordinating book orders, event schedules, volunteers, and teacher wish lists.
Parent Outreach Committee

Partners with the School’s Counseling Department to host Coffee Talks on relevant parenting and family topics. The committee also coordinates volunteer lists and sign-ups to help parents stay informed about opportunities to participate.
Spring Luncheon Committee

Plans and organizes the annual PA Spring Luncheon, bringing families together to celebrate the school year and recognize volunteers, Senior parents, and others who have contributed to the MCDS community.
Community Off-Campus Events Committee

Organizes social gatherings and activities beyond campus, including tennis, padel, pickleball, walking groups, and Mahjong, creating opportunities for parents and families to connect.
Family Engagement Committee

Supports school-wide experiences that bring families together, including Grandparents & Special Friends Day, Lasers & Chasers, and community art events.
Faculty Spirit Committee

Celebrates and supports MCDS faculty and staff throughout the year through monthly Faculty Lounge decorations and treats and the coordination of Teacher Appreciation Week.

I’m excited to lead the College Counseling and Academic Counseling team. As we embark on this incredible journey together, I want to take a moment to celebrate the vibrant spirit that thrives within our community. Each day at Miami Country Day, we have the opportunity to inspire and uplift one another. To our students: you are the heart of our school, filled with limitless potential and creativity. Let your curiosity be your guide, and never hesitate to reach for your dreams, knowing we are here to support you… you are enough. To our parents and the entire community: your involvement and passion make this place truly special, and what made me feel an immediate connection. Together, let us create lasting memories, foster meaningful connections, and elevate one another.
