Lower School Back to School Information

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! Below you will find useful information to ensure a great start to the school year.

New Lower School Hours

Staggered Morning Drop Off Schedule:
  • Early Childhood (PK3, JK4, SK5) students may arrive between 8:00am to 8:15am.
  • All other Lower School Students (Grades 1-5) must arrive by 8:00 am. You may drop off your child beginning at 7:40am. Supervision will be provided.

Staggered Dismissal/Pick-Up Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Friday:
  • Early Childhood (PK3, JK4, SK5) students will dismiss from 2:30pm to 2:45pm (for families who only have children in Early Childhood: PK3, JK4, SK5)
  • Early Childhood and Grades 1-5 students will dismiss from 2:50pm to 3:20 pm
  • Carpool students will dismiss from 3:20pm to 3:45pm (for families who also have children in Middle & Upper School)
Thursday:
  • Early Childhood (PK3, JK4, SK5) students will dismiss from 2:10pm to 2:25p
  • Early Childhood and Grades 1-5 students will dismiss from 2:30pm to 2:55 pm
  • Carpool students will dismiss from 3:00pm to 3:25pm

Bright Beginning Conferences/Early Childhood Home Visits

  • Grade 1st – 5th: Teachers will be contacting all parents for a “Bright Beginning Conference.” These will be scheduled on August 23rd or August 24th from 1:00-4:00 PM. This will be a time to share your thoughts and ideas for your child as you plan in partnership with the teacher for a successful school year!
  • PK3, JK4 & SK5: Home visits are scheduled to take place from August 23rd - August 25th. Your child’s homeroom teacher will contact you with more details.

SchoolPass

Parents are required to notify the school of absences, tardies, early arrival, and dismissal details through the "School Pass" system. More information will be shared in August.

Uniforms & Supplies

  • Student supplies are included in the tuition and will be provided.
  • All students must be in school uniform the first day of school. Uniform choices are included in the Lower School Parent/Student Handbook. P.E. uniforms (5th grade students only) are required.
  • Uniforms are available for purchase at Risse Brothers store located at 1630 79th St. Causeway, North Bay Village, FL or online at www.rissebrothers.com

New Student & Parent Orientation

All new students and parents are invited to attend orientation on Friday, August 20th from 9:30am-11:00am. More details forthcoming.

Lower School Open House

Save the Date: Thursday, September 23rd at 6:30pm. This is an evening for parents only.

Extended Day/After School Clubs

Extended Day and After School Clubs will be available for students in PK3 – 5th grade. Registration will be available online via the My Country Day Parent Portal. More details forthcoming.

Monday, August 23rd
• First day of School for students in Grades 1st – 5th
• Students will dismiss at 12:30pm (Bright Beginning Conferences will take place from 1:00pm-4:00pm. For parents only)

Tuesday, August 24th
• Students will dismiss at 12:30pm (Bright Beginning Conferences will take place from 1:00pm-4:00pm. For parents only)

Wednesday, August 25th
• First Full Day for students in Grades 1st – 5th
• Students in Grades 1st – 5th will dismiss at 2:50pm

Thursday, August 26th
• First day of School for (PK3, JK4, SK5 Students)
• Early Childhood Students will dismiss at 12:30pm
• Students in Grades 1st – 5th will dismiss at 2:30pm

Friday, August 27th:
• Early Childhood Students will dismiss at 12:30pm
• Students in Grades 1st – 5th will dismiss at 2:50pm
