In Friday’s Athletic Action....The Boys Varsity Basketball Team (9-9) beat SLAM Academy to win their 2nd consecutive District Championship 66-48. Marc Wendrow led the way with 19 points. The Boys host Somerset Central Miramar Academy in the Regional Quarterfinals on Thursday, February 18th, at 7pm.
On Saturday......The Girls Varsity Water Polo Team (1-1) beat Krop 19-4. Chloe Cartledge led the way with 5 goals and 6 steals, Sabrina Morata had 5 goals and a steal, Tatiana Blasky added 2 goals and 2 assists, Carolina Ortegon , Daniella Judge, and Brianna Dunn each scored 2 goals, Lucy Pasqualin added a goal, Heather Peroe had 2 assists, Sophia Guarini had 7 blocks, 1 assists, and 3 steals, and Ananya Carrafelli, Emily Wolk, Valeria Villanueva, and Zeina Bazzi all had assists. The Boys Varsity Water Polo Team (1-2) beat Krop 19-8, but lost to Hialeah 15-5. Riccardo Di Giuseppe combined for 11 goals, 2 assists, and 4 steals, Michael Bernstein had 3 goals, 3 steals, and an assist, Justin Claramonte made 8 big saves, Jake Grosman added 2 goals, 4 steals, and an assist, Kenneth Barrett had 2 goals, 3 steals, and 2 assists, Evan Miller added 4 goals and an assist, Luca Grendene and Felipe Blaya each scored, Nico Dunn had 3 steals and an assist, and Juan Pablo Lopez added an assist.
In Tuesday’s Athletic Action......The Girls Varsity Basketball Team (20-3) beat Palmer-Trinity in the Regional Quarterfinals 65-51. Andrea Daley led the way with 26 points, 17 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 blocks, Kayla Nelms had 17 points, 12 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 2 steals, and Isabella Guevara added 11 points, 2 assists, and 5 rebounds. The girls host Westminster Academy in the Regional Finals on Friday at 7pm. The Girls Varsity Soccer Team (6-4-3) beat Calvary Christian in the Regional Semifinals. Paige Dent led the way with 3 goals, Aly Rodriguez had 2 goals and an assist, Lucia Arcila and Mila Crespo each added a goal and 2 assists, Sofia Nelcha had 2 assists, Cristina Hernandez scored, Logan Sennett had an assist, and Natalia Pantin Escudero, Kayla Kilstock, Mia Batista, Mary Hanson, and Annabelle Shiff all played well. The girls host Pine Crest in the Regional Semifinals on Friday at 7pm.
