Tuesday, November 12, 2019:

On Friday......The Boys Varsity Soccer Team lost to Miami-Jackson in a pre-season game 1-0. Ethan White, Enzo LaGrassa-Gillet, and Rafael Urbina all played well on defense and Joseph Bassett made two outstanding saves.
 
In Saturday’s Athletic Action....Congratulations to Dylan Smiley.  He finished 10th in the state in the 100 Breaststroke, with a new MCDS record of 59.49, and 14th in the 100 Butterfly.  The Girls and Boys Cross Country Teams competed at the FHSAA Cross Country State Finals in Tallahassee. The Girls Team finished in 8th Place, the 3rd best finish in school history. The girls were led by Bella Smilowitz (20:01 (PR) in 21st Place), Rachel Hodes (36th Place in 20:30), Anastasija Moskvina (21:15 PR & 2nd Fastest Senior Time @ States), Isabella Galofre (21:49 PR), Brooke Nieder, Estella Dunham and Cristina Hernandez.  The Boys Team finished in 28th Place, beating several team they lost to in regionals. The boys were led by Ryan Mendelson (PR of 17:53), Carter McGaffic (19:09), Brady Lubetsky (19:34 PR), Davis Lubetsky (19:52 PR), Josh LeHockey (21:02 PR), Tyler Sastre (21:49 PR), and Jaxson Cooper (21:53). 
 Today......The Girls and Boys Varsity Soccer Teams host Mater Lakes Academy in their regular season opener at 5/7pm.
 
In Wednesday’s Action......The Girls Varsity Basketball Team travels to South Broward High School to play Naples Barron Collier High School in a pre-season game at 5pm.
 
Fall Sports Awards Ceremony: Our Fall Sports Awards Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, December 4, at 6:30pm. This ceremony should only last about 30-45 minutes, so please join us in celebrating the outstanding accomplishments our of Fall student-athletes and coaches.
 
Spartan Hall of Fame “Class of 2021”- The Miami Country Day School Alumni Association established the Spartan Athletic Hall of Fame to honor those individuals who have achieved a high level of success during their careers as student-athletes, coaches or through other significant accomplishments to the Miami Country Day School athletic program.
