In Thursday’s Athletic Action.........Congratulations to the Varsity Football Team (2-3). They beat Hillel 35-0 in front of a crowd of more than 600 people. Noah Markofsky returned an interception for a touchdown and ran for 2 other scores, Davin McCormack scored on a touchdown pass from Jackson Halliwell and added an interception, Timmy Houser ran for a touchdown and 2-point conversion, and Nate Peterson recovered a fumble. A special thanks to 21 Hearts One Beat, the Spartans Singers, all members of the MCDS Band, the Parents’ Association, our Fall senior-athletes and their families, and to everyone who helped make our 2019 Homecoming game a special event. The Varsity Volleyball Team (8-16) lost to Divine Savior in the District Championship 25-7, 25-10, 25-11. Ashley Michelin led the way with 11 assists and 3 digs, Rianna Washington had 4 kills, Francesca Malo added 17 receptions and 11 digs, and Isabella Brod had 19 receptions, 7 digs, and 3 kills. The Girls and Boys Middle School Cross Country Teams competed in South Florida Middle School Championships at Palmer-Trinity. The Middle School Boys Team finished 4th out of 8 teams. Tyler Sastre, Joaquin Ortiz, Nicholas Caceres, William Dean, Ryder Rosenberg, Shiwon Kang, Lucas Gynell, Sam Greenwald, Leni Zenatti , and Samuel Hodes all ran well for the Spartans. The Middle School Girls were led by Mallory McDonald (11th), Maya Bassan, and Ella Wilson. The Girls and Boys Middle School Swim results will be in Monday’s update.

Winter Sports
Please see each Winter sport listed below for practice start dates and coaching information. All game and practice schedules will be posted on the Miami Country Day School athletic website at www.miamicountryday.org.
