In Friday’s Athletic Action....... The Girls and Boys Cross Country Teams traveled across the Alley for the Celtic Invitational at Golden Gate Park in Naples. The Girls Varsity Cross Country Team finished 1st, as the Invitational Champions beating several high ranked 1A and 2A Teams. The girls were led by Rachel Hodes (6th), Bella Smilowitz (9th), Isabella Galofre (PR & 13th), Anastasija Moskvina (14th), Cristina Hernandez (18th), Estella Dunham, and Mallory McDonald. The JV Girls Team finished 1st and were led Sofia Cabarcos (1st Place), Klara Meyer (6th) Taisa Strouse (7th), Maya Bassan (8th), and Mary Hanson (12th ). The Boys Varsity Cross Country Team finished 10th overall and were led by Ryan Mendelson in (13th), Brady Lubestsky, Davis Lubetsky, Josh LeHockey, Carter McGaffic, and Tyler Sastre. The JV Boys Team finished in 5th and were led by Raffaello Bruni (15th), Joaquin Ortiz, Shiwon Kang, Nicholas Caceres, and William Dean. The Middle School (Varsity) Volleyball Team (17-4) beat Gulliver in the South Florida Middle School Volleyball Quarterfinals 25-6, 25-12. Mia Finvarb led the way with 9 kills, 5 aces, and 6 digs, Sienna Rosenberg had 12 assists, 3 aces, and 2 digs, Isabella Possin added 1 kill, 5 assists, 2 aces, and 14 digs, and Lucia Cartolano had 1 kills, 3 aces, and 5 digs.
On Saturday......The Girls Middle School (Varsity) Volleyball Team (17-5) lost to Carrollton in the South Florida Middle School Conference Semifinals 26-24, 25-22. Mia Finvarb had 7 kills, 1 ace, and 5 digs, Isabella Possin added 2 kills, 6 assists, 4 aces, and 31 digs, and Sienna Rosenberg had 10 assists and 11 digs. The results of the Boys and Girls Varsity Swim Team results at the Palm League Championships will be in Tuesday’s update.
Today......The Boys Golf Team participates in Districts at Eagle Trace Country Club starting at 8am, and the Varsity Volleyball Team plays SLAM Academy at Divine Savior at 7:30pm in the District Quarterfinals.
On Tuesday......The Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams host a meet at Greynolds Park at 4:15pm (Girls) and 5pm (Boys), and the Varsity Volleyball Team plays Hialeah Educational Academy at Divine Savior at 7:30pm.
