In Saturday’s Athletic Action......The Girls Middle School (JV) Volleyball Team (10-6) hosted their annual Spartan Invitational. The girls beat Florida Christian 25-15, 25-17, beat Ransom Everglades 25-23, 13-25, 15-11, but lost to Divine Savior 10-25, 25-23, 6-15. In game 1, Bianca Malatesta had 3 kills, 9 assists, 5 aces, and 11 digs, Stella Cardillo Ramos had 7 kills, 3 aces, and 4 digs, and Andi Gale had 4 kills and 5 digs. In game 2, Arabella Gutchess had 4 aces, 9 digs, and 2 kills, Bianca Malatesta added 4 aces, 15 digs, and 3 kills, and Stella Cardillo Ramos had 2 aces and 5 digs. In game 3, Laura De Wilde had 4 aces, 4 digs, and 6 assists, Ella Gilderman added 10 digs and 2 kills, and Daniella Arango had 2 aces and 5 digs.
On Monday......The Girls Middle School (Varsity) Volleyball Team (16-4) beat Carrollton 25-20, 25-23. Sophia Arcila led the way with 3 aces and 12 digs, Sienna Rosenberg had 3 digs and 9 assists, and Tiana Tolles added 8 kills, 2 blocks, and 7 digs. The Girls Middle School (JV) Volleyball Team (10-7) lost to Carrollton in their season finale 25-27, 25-18, 8-15. Laura De Wilde led the way with 8 assists and 4 aces, Alexia Peristeris had 12 service points and 6 aces, Ella Gilderman added 7 kills and 8 digs, and Bianca Malatesta had 13 service points, 4 aces, 10 digs, and 4 assists. The Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball Team (6-11) lost to Carrollton in their season finale 25-16, 25-16. Tatiana Blasky led the way with 3 assists and 2 aces, Brisel Cabrera had 2 kills and 3 digs, Sophie Gill added 11 digs and 14 receptions, and Chiara Moura had 4 digs and 2 aces. The Girls Varsity Volleyball Team (5-15) lost to Carrollton on “Senior Night” 16-25, 25-17, 27-29, 22-25. Ashley Michelin led the way with 22 assists, 7 digs, and 2 kills, Carolina Ortegon had 11 kills and 4 blocks, Francesca Malo added 18 digs and 17 receptions, and Isabella Brod had 17 receptions and 14 digs. Congratulations to our seniors, Tatiana Barnes (MGR), Jia Garcia, Francesca Malo, Ashley Michelin, and Rianna Washington, on their outstanding volleyball careers. The Boys and Girls Golf match against University School was cancelled due to inclement weather.
There are no athletic games, meets, or matches scheduled for today or Wednesday.
On Thursday…..the Boys and Girls Varsity Swim Teams host a meet at 5:30pm, the Varsity Football Team travels to Florida Christian at 7pm, the Boys and Girls Golf Teams travel to Sagemont at 1pm (Eagle Trace), and the Varsity Volleyball Team travels to St. Andrews to play North Broward Prep in the Palm League Championships at 4pm.
