In Friday’s Athletic Events.....The Varsity Baseball Team (9-8) beat Everglades Prep 15-0. Zac Wyka led the way going 4 for 4 with 4 runs scored, and 3 stolen bases, Connor Goodman was 3 for 3 with a triple, homerun, 4 runs scored and 4 RBI, Lee Iaslovits recorded the win and doubled, Eric Germeus scored 2 runs, and Timmy Houser drove in 2 runs.
Today.....The Varsity Baseball Team hosts the South Florida Baseball Conference Tournament. Somerset Homestead plays Riviera Prep at 4pm, and the Spartans host Everglades Prep at 7pm.
Springs Sports Awards......Our Spring Sports Awards Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 8, at 6:30pm. We have changed the format a bit, to make the evening a bit shorter and more convenient for our student-athletes, coaches, and families. Instead of having everyone meet in the gym for a collective assembly, we will have everyone go to their respective rooms, listed below, or individual and team recognition, as well as special awards. This ceremony should take everyone about 30 minutes. We do ask that each coach individualize the event, so that each player is recognized. In addition, we will not be providing food. We wanted to simplify the format, as we hope this will improve attendance. I would also ask that each Spring head coach, please communicate with your players, coaches, and parents, so that we can all be on the same page. Thanks for your cooperation, and please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
