In Tuesday’s Athletic Events…..The Varsity Baseball Team (1-0) beat ATM 6-2.  Lukas Peterson recorded the win, throwing 5 shutout innings, allowing 0 hits, and striking out 8, Dhillon Murphy doubled home a run, and Zac Wyka scored twice.  The Girls Middle School Tennis Team (2-0) beat Doral Academy 7-0.  Lucia Burton, Brookie Kovacs, Scout Hudson, Sierra Rosen, and Ginger Jacob won their singles matches, and Scarlett Richards and Chiara Moura, Remn Rosenfeld and Ginger Jacob won their doubles matches.  The Boys Middle School Tennis Team (2-0) beat Doral Academy 6-1.  Max Castanon, Juan de Zabala, Francesco Rumiano, and Oscar Bergier won their singles matches, and Juan and Francesco, August Bicknell and Oscar won their doubles matches. The Girls Varsity Water Polo Team (4-2) beat Miami High 20-2.  Patrizia Puppin and Chloe Cartledge each scored 4 goals, Sofia Paredes, Sabrina Morata, and Isabella Stripling each added 3 goals, Rhiannen Reig had 2 goals and 3 assists, Zeina Bazzi had a goal and 2 assists, and Sophia Guarini made 7 saves. The Boys Varsity Water Polo Team (4-2) beat Miami High 18-7. Romeo Curcio led the way with 8 goals and 4 assists, Ricky Stamatis had 4 goals and 3 assists, Zach Charalambides and Jackson Jimenez each added 2 goals, Michael Bernstein had a goal and 4 assists, Jake Grossman added a goal and an assist, and Ricardo Di Giuseppe made 11 saves.  The Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team (0-3) lost to Western High School 8-1.  Rachel Hodes scored, Michelle Jacobo made 17 saves, and Andrea Bravo-Contreras and Laureen Jean-Jacques each played well on defense.  The Middle School Water Polo Team (0-1) lost to Gulliver 22-4.  Leonard Niemeyer made 10 saves, Edoardo Figari had 2 goals, 3 steals, and 2 saves, and Nico Dunn and Stuart Browning each scored. The Softball Team (1-1) lost to Palmer-Trinity 24-22. Isabella Allen led the way, going 4 for 4, with 5 runs scored, and 3 RBI, Saarah Rassif had 2 hits, 2 runs scored, and 3 RBI, Tatiana Barnes added 2 hits and 2 RBI, Logan Sennett had 2 hits, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI, Sophia Gostfrand added 3 hits, scored 2 runs, and had 3 RBI, and Alicia Kelly scored 4 runs and drove in 2.
 
On Wednesday…… The Girls Varsity Basketball Team (25-1) beat PK Yonge in the State Semifinals 81-50.  Koi Love led the way with 23 points, 15 rebounds, 7 steals, 3 blocks, and 2 assists, Maria Alvarez had 17 points, 6 assists, and 4 steals, Karina Gordon added 16 points and 2 rebounds, and Sydney Shaw had 8 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds.  The Middle School Water Polo Team (1-1) beat Riviera Prep 20-2.  Leonard Niemeyer led the way with 10 saves, Edoardo Figari had 5 goals, 2 steals, and 3 assists, Stuart Browning added 5 goals and 2 steals, Nico Dunn had 3 goals and 2 steals, Felipe Blaya and Harry Florin each added a goal and 2 assists, Aarin Singh had 2 goals, and Leonardo Emperador, Heather Peroe, and Luci Pasqualin each scored. The Girls and Boys Varsity Tennis matches against Gulliver were rained out.
 
In Thursday’s action…. The Girls Varsity Basketball Team (26-1) beat Carrollwood Day School 62-30 to win their record 6th consecutive state championship.  Please click here to see the Miami herald article on our girls https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/high-school/prep-miami-dade/article226878689.html.  The Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team (2-1) beat Palmer-Trinity 13-6. Noah Reines led the way with 2 goals and 3 assists, Marlon Robins, Chaz Berkowitz, and Sean Fuller each scored 2 goals, Noah Markofsky had a goal and 4 assists, Jake Fishman and Jack Finvarb each added a goal and an assist, Mitchell Koch had 2 assists, and Stevie Port and Milan Luciano each scored. The Girls Middle School Tennis Team (3-0) beat Carrollton 5-2.  Lucia Burton, Brookie Kovacs, Scout Hudson, and Ginger Jacob all won their singles matches, and Lucia and Brookie won their doubles matches.
 
Today….The Girls and Boys Varsity Water Polo Teams host Miami Beach at 5pm-girls and 6pm-boys (Livestreamed event), the Varsity Baseball Team travels to North Miami Beach at 3:30pm, the Girls and Boys Varsity Tennis Teams travel to Riviera Prep at 3pm, and the Softball Team hosts Colonial Christian at 6pm
 
On Saturday…..The Middle School Baseball Team travels to Marathon for a double-header at 10am/12:30pm, and the Middle School Lacrosse Team travels to Gulliver at 10:15am/11:30am.
 
Winter Sports Awards Ceremony…… Our Winter Sports Awards Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, March 6, at 6:30pm.  We are asking all coaches, student-athletes, friends, and families to report to the rooms listed below for individual and team recognition, as well as special awards.  This ceremony should only last about 30-45 minutes, so please join us in celebrating the outstanding accomplishments our of Winter student-athletes and coaches.
