On Friday…..The Middle School (Varsity) Volleyball Team (8-0) participated in the Florida Christian Invitational on Friday and Saturday. On Friday….the girls beat Ransom Everglades (JV) 25-12, 25-15, and Gulliver 27-25, 25-14. In the Ransom game, Sierra Rosenberg and Isabella Possin each had 5 assists, Isabella Urbina added 3 aces, and Isabella Brod and Hailey Asseus each had 3 kills. Against Gulliver, Tiana Tolles led the way with 5 aces and 3 kills, Isabella Possin had 7 assists and 3 digs, Isabella Brod added 4 kills and 4 digs, and Sierra Rosenberg had 4 assists and 3 digs. The Varsity Volleyball Team (3-6) participated in Chaminade Invitational. The Girls lost to Ransom Everglades 25-13, 25-14, lost to Cypress Bay 25-13, 25-10, and lost to Doral Academy 25-20, 8-25, 7-15. Against Ransom, Eva Sirlin had 6 service points, 5 receptions, and 4 digs, Rianna Washington added 2 kills, and Jia Garcia added 5 assists. Against Cypress Bay, Carolina Ortegon led the way with 4 kills, and Eva Sirlin had 4 receptions and 2 service points. In the Doral match, Taylor Lynott had 10 receptions, 7 digs, 5 kills, and 2 service points, Francesca Malo added 12 receptions and 4 digs, and Ashley Michilin had 8 assists, 5 digs, and 2 kills.
On Saturday…..The Middle School (Varsity) Volleyball Team won the Florida Christian Invitational by beating Carrollton in the semifinals 26-24, 25-10, and Ransom Everglades in the championship game 25-23, 25-17. In the Carrollton match, Isabella Brod led the way with 4 aces, 3 kills, and 4 digs, Isabella Possin had 3 aces, 7 assists, and 6 digs, Isabella Urbina added 5 aces, Sierra Rosenberg had 7 assists, and Sophia Arcila had 13 digs. In the championship game, Sophia Arcila had 15 digs and 2 aces, Ella Green had 3 aces, 2 kills, and 7 digs, Isabella Brod added 3 aces, 2 kills, and 5 assists, and Tiana Tolles had 4 kills, 8 digs, and 2 aces. The Girls Volleyball Team beat Carrollton 25-21, 25-13, but lost to West Broward 25-15, 25-18. In the West Broward match, Ashley Michelin led the way with 7 assists, 5 digs, and 4 service points, Brianna Lewin added 8 receptions, 5 digs, 3 kills, and 2 service points, and Rianna Washington had 4 kills and 3 blocks. Against Carrollton, Carolina Ortegon had 8 kills and 3 blocks, Rianna Washington added 7 blocks and 4 kills, Ashley Michelin had 13 assists, 6 digs, and 4 service points, and Francesca Malo had 10 receptions, 7 digs, and 8 service points. The Girls and Boys Middle School Swim Teams hosted the Spartan Invitational. Results will be in Wednesday’s update.
In Today’s Events….The Girls and Boys Varsity Swim Teams host Ransom Everglades at 5:30pm, the Junior Varsity and Varsity Volleyball Teams travel to Chaminade at 4:30/6pm, and the Middle School (JV and Varsity) Volleyball Teams host Divine Savior at 4/5pm.
