In Monday’s Athletic Events…… The Girls Varsity Water Polo Team (3-7) beat Miami High 14-0. Tyler Knohl led the way with 5 goals and a steal, Patrizia Puppin had 3 goals and 2 steals, Isabella Stripling added 3 goals, and Rhiannen Reig, Tatiana Blasky, and Sofia Dieppa each scored a goal.  The Boys Varsity Water Polo Team (7-3) beat Miami High 23-14. Zachary Smith led the way with 8 goals, 3 assists, and 2 steals, Juan Martin Caro had 4 goals and a steal, Eric Bernstein added 3 goals, 2 assists, and 3 steals, Sebastian Rodriguez had 3 goals, 2 assists, and 3 steals, Romeo Curcio and Arie Sternberg each had 2 goals and 3 steals, Ilan Zenatti added a goal and a steal, and Ricardo Di Giuseppe had 8 saves, 3 steals, and 2 assists.  The Middle School Water Polo Team (0-2) lost to Belen 23-4.  Kenneth Barrett led the way with 2 goals, Nico Dunn and Tommaso Figari each scored, Marco Pacheco made 4 saves, and Chloe Fong, Zoe Terry, Michael Bernstein, Leo Niemeyer, Felipe Blaya, and Harry Florin all played well.  The Junior Varsity Lacrosse Team (1-2) lost to Ransom Everglades 9-4.  Stevie Port led the way with 2 goals, Ryan Mendelson added a goal and an assist, and Mitchell Koch scored.  
 
In Today’s Action…..The Girls and Boys Middle School Tennis Teams host Palmer-Trinity at 3:30pm, the Softball Team travels to SLAM Academy at 3:30pm, the Middle School Baseball Team hosts Ransom Everglades at 4pm, the Middle School Water Polo Team hosts Riviera prep at 5pm, and the Varsity Baseball Team hosts Chaminade at 7pm. 
 
Florida High School Athletic Association Academic Team Champions: …..The FHSAA Academic Team Champion recognition program honors teamwork not only in competition, but in the classroom as well. The program recognizes teams in each of the Association’s sanctioned and recognized sports, naming an Academic Team Champion in each classification.  Congratulations to the Miami Country Day School Winter Teams, as they were recognized this past week by the Florida High School Athletic Association. 
 
Boys Soccer – 1st in Class 1A – 3.681 GPA
Boys Basketball – 2nd in Class 4A – 3.555 GPA
Girls Soccer – 3rd in Class 1A – 3.749 GPA
Girls Basketball – 5th in Class 4A – 3.398 GPA
