Wed., Feb. 28 & Thu. Mar. 1, 2018:

In Wednesday’s Athletic Events….. Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Basketball Team (18-10).  They beat SLAM Academy in the State Semifinals 63-30.  Maria Alvarez led the way with 18 points and 3 assists, Aasiya Berry had 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals, and Koi Love added 12 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 6 steals, and 4 blocks.  The girls play Carrollwood Country Day School on Thursday at 2pm in the State Championship game.  The Boys Varsity Tennis Team (2-2) lost to Gulliver 4-3.  Louis Siegler and Morgan Weisberg won their singles matches, and Louis and Milan Bass won their doubles match.    The Girls Varsity Tennis Team (2-3) lost to Gulliver 5-2.  Allexii Bassette and Danielle Bernstein each won their singles matches.
 
On Thursday……The Girls and Boys Middle School Tennis Teams host Gulliver at 3pm (Miami Shores Country Club), the Junior Varsity and Varsity Lacrosse Teams host Belen at 5/7pm, the Middle School Baseball Team travels to the Miami Shores Recreational Center to play Doctors Charter at 3:15pm, and the Girls Varsity Basketball Team plays Carrollwood Country Day School on Thursday at 2pm in the State Championship game.  


In Tuesday’s Athletic Events
….The Softball Team (1-2) beat Colonial Christian 11-7.  Michelle Yacobi recorded the win with 10 strikeouts, and added 2 hits, 3 RBI, and scored 2 runs, Logan Sennett had 2 hits, 2 RBI, and scored 2 runs, Isabella Allen added 2 hits, including a homerun, scored 2 runs, and had 2 RBI, Saarah Rassif had 4 hits, 2 RBI, and scored a run, and Alicia Kelly added 2 hits, an RBI, and scored a run.  The Boys Middle School Tennis Team (3-0) beat Riviera Prep 7-0.  Max Castanon, Daniel Tzalik, and Efe Deniz all won their singles matches, and Victor Destri and Anthony Calfa won their doubles match.  The Girls Middle School Tennis Team (6-1) beat Riviera Prep 6-1.  Lucia Burton, Scout Hudson, Nina Vara, and Remi Rosenfeld won their singles matches, and Lucia and Brookie Kovacs, Chiara Moura and Sierra Rosen won their doubles matches.  The Boys Varsity Water Polo Team (5-2) lost to Hialeah High 14-6.  Eric Bernstein led the way with 3 goals and a steal, and Romeo Curcio, Ricardo Stamatis, and Zachary Smith each scored.  The Girls Varsity Water Polo Team (2-5) lost to Hialeah High 22-3.   Patrizia Puppin, Tyler Knohl, and Rhiannen Reig all scored.  The Middle School (Varsity) Lacrosse Team (0-2-1) tied Westminster Christian 3-3.  Tyler Walsh led the way with 2 goals, Ben Malamed added a goal and an assist, James Deering had 2 assists, and Jose Garcia and Julian Chariff each played well.  The Junior Varsity Lacrosse (0-1) lost to Gulliver 10-1.  Mitchell Koch scored on an assist from Stevie Port, and Logan Behlman and Ethan Gale each played well.  The Varsity Lacrosse Team (0-3) lost to Gulliver 9-7.  Marlon Robins and Ryan Finvarb each had 2 goals and an assist, Noah Markofsky added a goal and an assist, Danny Strouse and Sean Fuller each scored, Zachary Hart added 3 assists, Noah Reines had an assist, and David Burger, James Dunbar, John Sayfie, Matthew Hanson, and Jovan Joseph all played well. 
 
In Today’s Athletic Events…..The Girls Varsity Basketball Team plays SLAM Academy in the State Semifinals in Lakeland at 12pm, and the Girls and Boys Varsity Tennis Team hosts Gulliver at 3pm (Arthur Snyder Tennis Center).
