In Tuesday’s Athletic Events…..The Boys Varsity Basketball Team (7-10) lost to Westminster Christian 54-29. Harrison Stier led the way with 8 points and 3 blocks, and Tristan Escalante had 6 points and 4 rebounds. The Boys Junior Varsity Basketball Team (8-8) lost to Westminster Christian 69-43. Jasper Feldman led the way with 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals, Jovan Joseph had 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals.
In Wednesday’s Athletic Events……The Boys Varsity Soccer Team (15-4-2) lost to Divine Savior Academy in the District Championship game 4-2. Dylan Turk and Dre Medici each scored, and Nico Arriola, Liam Weil, Remy Cross, and Khalil Winder all played well. The Boys will travel to Sagemont on Wednesday, February 7th to participate in the Regional Quarterfinals (Western Regional Park) at either 3:30pm or 7pm. In Today’s Action….The Boys Junior Varsity and Varsity Basketball Teams travel to SLAM Academy at 6/7:30pm.
On Saturday, February 3rd, The Girls Varsity Basketball Team will host Florida Prep Academy in their annual “Senior Game” at 2pm. Prior to the game, Miami Country Day School will be re-naming the J. Calvin Rose Athletic Center basketball court - the “Court Ochiel Swaby Court” - in honor of Coach Ochiel Swaby. In his 13 years as head coach, Coach Swaby has guided his team to over 300 wins, 8 District Championships, 5 consecutive Regional Championships, 4 consecutive State Championships, and 2 Dicks National Championships. In addition, we are asking all Spartan fans to wear your Country Day Spartan red as we "Red Out" for Coach O and our seniors. The first 300 fans will receive a free "Red Out" t-shirt. Please come out to support Coach O, the Girls Basketball Team, our seniors, and all of our Winter athletes. Go Spartans!
