This Cultural Arts Series event, Adventures in Documentary Filmmaking: An Evening with Gaspar Gonzalez, is open to the public and completely free. Please join us for the screening of Gaspar's recent documentary, Errol Flynn's Ghost: Hollywood in Havana followed by a Q & A session and conversation about the filmmaker's career.
Gaspar González has produced documentary programming for PBS, the BBC, ESPN, and others. His credits include the national PBS release Muhammad Ali: Made in Miami, the Grantland short doc Gay Talese's Address Book, the ESPN 30 for 30 Short The Guerrilla Fighter, and Havana House, winner of the Audience Award at the 2017 Miami Film Festival. His most recent films are A Long Way from Home: The Untold Story of Baseball's Desegregation, a national cable network premiere in 2018, and Errol Flynn's Ghost: Hollywood in Havana. His work has been recognized by the Telly Awards, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the American Cinematheque, and the National Baseball Hall of Fame. He earned his Ph.D. in American Studies from Yale University.
