Additional Information
Your child is welcome to apply from Pre-Kindergarten 3 through 11th grade. Students must be three years old for Pre-Kindergarten, four years old for Junior Kindergarten, and five years old for Senior Kindergarten by September 1st.

We encourage you to apply online. The online application reduces paper and allows us to process your application more quickly. In an effort to encourage online applications, we have lowered the online application fee to $100. However, if you prefer, we will gladly send you an application package that you may complete and return to us. The application fee for the paper application is $115.  
 
Miami Country Day School is authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students and to issue Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) Form I-20 to qualified students wishing to study in the United States under an F-1 VISA.  International students must comply with all federal regulations before an I-20 can be issued, such requirements include, but are not limited to: demonstration of English proficiency, proof of financial resources, and meet all the admission requirements for Miami Country Day School.  Additional fees will be incurred by SEVP.  Click here for more information on SEVP.

Admissions Criteria

The general admission criteria expected of students entering Miami Country Day School are listed below:

  • Average to superior intellectual abilities.
  • Ability to demonstrate age-appropriate developmental skills for students entering primary grades.
  • A/B average in each of the five core courses—English, math, science, history and foreign language.
  • Above average grades in conduct and effort.
  • Good to superior teacher recommendations.
  • Achieve an above average admission test score using independent school norms.
  • Ability to demonstrate grade-appropriate writing skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate age-appropriate verbal responses in an interview setting.
  • Parents’ willingness to meet financial responsibilities.
  • MCDS complies with all federal and state laws prohibiting discrimination in its admission, employment, and administrative policies.
  • Admission is open to all students regardless of race, color, religion, sex, disability, citizenship status, creed, or national origin who possess the motivation, ability and character enabling them to succeed in our school community.
