Monday, March 9, 2020:

In Friday’s Athletic Events......The Girls Middle School Tennis Team (6-2) beat Westminster Christian 7-0. Sierra Rosen, Talia Kurlandski, Natalia Torres, Natalia Marquez, and Angelina Belin all won their singles matches, and Maria Lolo Lopez and Natalia Torres, and Natalia Marquez and Angelina Belin won their doubles matches. The Boys Middle School Tennis Team (3-4) lost to Westminster Christian 4-3. The Varsity Baseball Team (0-4) lost to Ransom Everglades 16-5. Eric Germeus scored 2 runs, and Jake Wyka doubled and scored.
 
On Saturday......The Boys Varsity Water Polo Team (5-10) lost to Olympia 15-6, but beat Hialeah Gardens 11-9, and West Orange in overtime 7-6. Nico Dunn led the way with 7 goals, an assist, and 6 steals, Edoardo Figari had 4 goals, 3 assists, and 4 steals, Riccardo Di Giuseppe added 5 goals, an assist, 11 steals, and 17 saves, Felipe Blaya made 7 saves, Michael Bernstein had 3 goals, 5 assists, and 2 steals, Ilan Zenatti and Luca Grendene each scored 2 goals, and Kenneth Barrett and Jake Grossman each had an assist. The Girls Varsity Water Polo Team (9-5) lost to Dr. Phillips 11-7, lost to Gulliver 17-3, and lost to Suncoast 6-3. Sofia Guarini led the way with 26 saves and 6 steals, Sabrina Morata had 4 goals, 6 steals, and 3 assists, Tatiana Blasky had 3 goals and 2 steals, Isabella Stripling Serrano added 3 goals and 3 steals, Chloe Cartledge had 2 goals an assist, and 2 steals, and Zeina Bazzi added a goal. The Boys Middle School Lacrosse Team (4-2) lost to Ransom Everglades 5-3, and beat Westminster Christian 9-3. In game 1, James Deering led the way with a goal and an assist, Evan Hurwitz and Alex Mendelson each scored, and Rainen O’Kurley made 7 saves. In game 2, Evan Hurwitz and James Deering each had 3 goals and an assist, Josh Harris added 2 goals, Alec Miller and Marcus Papunen each scored, and Beck Trafton added an assist. The Middle School Baseball Team (0-5) lost to Marathon 17-2 and 7-6. In game 1, Hansel Ramirez was 2 for 2, doubled, drove in a run, and scored, Tanner Sennett drove in a run, and Sam Greenwald threw 2 innings, striking out 2 and allowed 1 run. In game 2, Parker Zaron was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored, Hansel Ramirez was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI, Avery Sinnes was 2 for 3 with a double and RBI, and threw 3 innings with 5 strikeouts, Noah Tran was 1 for 2 with 2 runs scored, and Tanner Sennett was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI.
 
Today......The Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team hosts Westminster Christian at 4:30pm, the Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team travels to Gulliver at 4pm, the Middle School Water Polo Team travels to Ransom Everglades at 5pm, and the Girls Varsity Tennis Team travels to Carrollton at 3:30pm.
 
On Tuesday.....The Softball Team hosts Somerset Homestead at 3pm.

Games of the Week (Thursday, March 12) .......Please come out and support this week’s “Spartan Pride Games of the Week” on Thursday, March 12th, as the Girls Varsity Water Polo Team hosts Miami Beach High School in their “Senior Game” at 5pm and the Boys Varsity Water Polo Team hosts Miami Beach High School in their “Senior Game” at 6pm. Prizes and games will occur during halftime of each contest, with our ‘Senior Ceremony” taking place between games.
