In Friday’s Athletic Action......Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Soccer Team (12-8-1). They won the District Championship (by forfeit) against Miami Edison. The Boys will host the Regional Quarterfinals on Wednesday, February 12th, at 7pm. Congratulations to the Girls VarsityBasketball Team (16-9). They won the Palm League Championship by beating Benjamin 64-41. Andrea Daley led the way with 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals, Sydney Shaw had 11 points, 7 assists, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals, Emani Theodule added 9 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals, Gianna Corbitt had 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists, and Kristina Godfrey added 8 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals. The Girls Varsity Water Polo Team beat Krop in a pre-season game 7-1. Sabrina Morata led the way with 4 goals, Tatiana Blasky had 2 goals, Isabella Stripling Serrano added a goal and 5 steals, Chloe Cartledge had 5 steals and an assist, and Carolina Ortegon had 3 blocks and 2 steals. The Boys Varsity Water Polo Team beat Krop in a pre-season game 9-6. Nico Dunn and Edoardo Figari each scored 3 goals, Riccardo Di Giuseppe made 8 saves, had 2 steals, and 2 assists, Michael Bernstein, Ilan Zenatti, and Jake Grossman all scored, and Luca Grendene added an assist.
On Saturday.....The Boys Varsity Basketball Team (9-12) lost to Benjamin in the Palm League Championships 76-71. Jordan Cooke led the way with 30 points, 6 assists, and 4 steals, Ryan Mendelson had 12 points and 5 rebounds, and Izzy Kohen added 9 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals. The Girls Varsity Basketball Team participated in their annual Service Project at Feeding South Florida .
Today......The Boys Junior Varsity and Varsity Basketball Teams travel to Miami Beach High at 6/7:30pm.
