In Wednesday’s Athletic Action.....Congratulations to the Girls Middle School Tennis Team on winning the South Florida Middle School Conference Championship. Brook Kovacs won the #2 singles championship, Ginger Jacob won the #5 singles championship, Sierra Rosen was the #4 singles runner-up, and Lucia Burton and Brooke Kovacs, Sierra Rosen and Ginger Jacob were doubles runner-ups. The Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team (9-5) beat Coral Reef High School 11-8. Chaz Berkowitz and Jake Fishman led the way with 3 goals each, Noah Markofsky had 2 goals and 3 assists, Sean Fuller added a goal and 2 assists, and Stevie Port and Marlon Robins each had a goal and an assist.  The Varsity Baseball Team (6-4) lost to Dr. Krop High School 8-2.  Zac Wyka was 2 for 3 with an RBI, Eric Germeus doubled and scored, and Dhillon Murphy threw 4 solid innings, allowing 2 hits.  The Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team (1-8) lost to Palmer-Trinity in their “Senior Game” 12-4.  Senior Laureen Jean-Jacques, Rachel Hodes, Andrea Pantin, and Sophia Agurcia all scored. Congrats to the girls and coaches on an outstanding inaugural season. The Girls Varsity Water Polo Team (15-11) lost to Hialeah High School in the District Championship. Sophia Guarini made 10 saves in goal. Congratulations to the coaches and players on a season to remember.
Today......The Boys Middle School Tennis Team participates in the South Florida Middle School Championships at Tropical Park at 8:30am, the Middle School Baseball Team hosts Cushman at 3;15pm, the Varsity Baseball Team hosts Marathon at 6pm.
On Friday.....The Varsity Lacrosse Team hosts Florida Christian in their ‘Senior Game” at 7pm, and the Softball Team travels to Coral Shores at 4pm.  
Spartan Spring Fling.....On April 12, we will begin a special new tradition at MCDS, the first annual Spartan Spring Fling. This will be a community wide event from 4-9pm with a food court, music, games for the younger kids and a dessert bar created by the upper school students. Mr Connor, Mr. Peter Konen, Anthony Haderer, Coach Chris Polite, Coach JoJo Frigerio, Abra Adrabi, and Maria Alvarez will all takes turns in a dunk tank and there will be art on display throughout campus. It will be a special campus wide community afternoon and evening. Spring Fling will culminate with the Varsity Lacrosse senior game at 7pm. At the start of the game, each varsity player will be escorted on the field by a 3rd grade buddy and the national Anthem will be sung by members of the cast of the upcoming Upper School musical, Grease. Please join us for this special celebration of Spartan Spirit.
