Upper School

Creating Awareness, Understanding & Social Equity (CAUSE) serves as an umbrella, student-led organization to ensure diversity programing is occurring in the Upper School.  CAUSE is the coordinator of all diversity and inclusivity efforts and works with other organizations to promote their projects.  CAUSE meets as a board to ensure that these discussions and events are happening on campus.
Representatives from each Upper School affinity group are selected by the Club Sponsor and/or organization. They are responsible for attending CAUSE meetings, bringing issues of diversity and inclusivity to the group’s attention, and making suggestions for all-Upper School programming.
  • The term is from February through February.
  • Students may serve multiple terms on the Board.
  • Second semester seniors may not serve on the Board.
  • CAUSE maintains a calendar of diversity and inclusivity programming.
  • CAUSE is student run under the guidance of a faculty sponsor.
Members of CAUSE take part in training to equip them with the knowledge to effectively carry out diversity and inclusivity programming in the Upper School.
