  Adam Epstein (MCDS ’92) was a Tony Award–winning Broadway producer whose productions earned 46 Tony nominations and 12 Tony awards. Adam received a Tony for producer of the 2003 best musical, "Hairspray". He later served as an adjunct faculty member at NYU and Brown University and is known for his political podcast.

  Sandi Lewis dedicated over 30 years to MCDS as a Drama and English teacher, founding the Junior and Senior Thespian troupes and sponsoring the literary magazine. Remembered for her wisdom, warmth, and even her chicken soup, she was a devoted teacher and caregiver to the MCDS community.

  Jonina Pitchman founded the MCDS Dance program, co-directed Theater for Social Change, and served as Arts Department Coordinator and Class Sponsor. Known for her organization and vision, she combined rigorous dance training with empathy, helping students build confidence, community, and belonging through movement.

  John Wicker taught at MCDS for nearly 40 years, building a vibrant music program, mentoring generations of students, and creating a welcoming space in the music room. His ensembles—Jazz Band, EBO Orchestra, and later “21 Hearts, 1 Beat”—earned top honors, while his patient, high-expectation teaching model inspired lifelong lovers of music.
