• About Learning Resources

Did you know

…We Prepare Students for the Future

  • 100% of program graduates go on to college at some of the finest universities in the country and abroad
  • Students remain with the same teacher for two to three years, fostering strong relationships
  • Students create and use an online portfolio to document and showcase their work along with service learning and extracurricular activities, which is used as a marketing tool for college admissions
  • Students receive recognition in many areas, such as:  ISSF Star Student, The National Honor Society, International Spanish Art Competition, Fairchild Challenge and more

…Our Students Are Integrated Across Programs

  • Students move between Learning Resources classes and non-Learning Resources classes according to their educational needs
  • All students participate in homeroom, physical education, art, music, drama and other electives with their grade-level classmates
  • Students may take from one to five courses in the program
  • Courses focus on the same concepts and skills development as other college preparatory courses

…We Incorporate Advanced Teaching Methods

  • Our highly trained teachers’ instructional strategies translate brain research into action
  • Reading instruction utilizes specialized software through a blended learning program based on the Orton-Gillingham approach with eSolution, a reading fluency program to help with comprehension
  • Audio books in a broad range of subjects are available to our students online

…We Collaborate with Parents

  • Teachers, parents and the Learning Resources Director work collaboratively and communicate frequently to help promote student success
  • We hold Monthly Parent Coffees to spotlight areas of interest to keep abreast of the student’s progress and challenges
    • Take Action
